Bringing PEI’s community sector together for a stronger voice, shared knowledge, and resources.

PEI's nonprofits, charities, and many more

The community sector refers to a range of organizations, groups, and initiatives that work to address social, cultural, economic, and environmental issues in local, national, or global communities. These organizations and groups may be nonprofits, charities, clubs,  social enterprises, community development organizations, advocacy groups, and volunteer organizations.

Created by the community sector for the community sector

The Community Sector Network of PEI (CSNPEI) was established by members of the community sector itself, with the aim of serving and supporting the needs of the wider community sector on Prince Edward Island.

Our Programs & Services

  • Achieving Success through Community ENgagement & Development (ASCEND)

The ASCEND program is transforming youth employment across Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Nunavut.

Funded by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy and led by Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador (CSCNL), ASCEND is delivered on the Island through a partnership with the Community Sector Network of PEI (CSNPEI).

This initiative provides meaningful employment opportunities for youth aged 15-30 who are Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEET), while strengthening the community sector.

  • Bookkeeping Services

Our In-House Bookkeeping service gives your organization access to a dedicated accountant for a fraction of the cost of hiring your own. It is run through the Shared Services Program (SSP), a program of CSNPEI, funded by Innovation PEI.
We handle the day to day numbers so your team can stay focused on your mission.

  • Impact Measurement Services

CSNPEI now offers Impact Measurement and Program Evaluation service through our Shared Services Program. This service will help member organizations plan, implement, and communicate their impact, particularly in relation to grant reporting and funder requirements.

This service takes a consultative approach, working collaboratively with each organization, its funders, and staff to identify the right measurement framework and build a plan suited to their timeline and budget.

Services are available to nonprofits across Canada.

  • Shared Services Program

Our Shared Services Program connects PEI nonprofits with vetted professional service providers at a shared cost, easing operational burdens and helping organizations grow sustainably. Through the program, member organizations can access bookkeeping and payroll, impact measurement, financial advisory, HR, marketing and communications, strategic planning, grant writing, and board governance support, often at lower cost than going it alone.

You are the expert!

Imagine a space where the everyday heroes of our community, people like you and me, step into the spotlight to share their passions, skills, and experiences with others. That's exactly what the "You Are the Expert!" Workshop Series is all about.

A series of virtual workshops where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to teach and learn from one another, all free of charge.

My most significant take away is the strength and resilience of the community sector. I look forward to building new, and strengthening existing, partnerships within the sector.
