SUMMARY:Epekwitk Water Walk 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join NCPEI\, AWA and PEERS Alliance for their 2026 Epekwitk Water Walk! \nThe starting point on July 14th is North Rustico Beach and the end point on July 17th is St Peters Bay where a closing ceremony and feast will be held. \nHave questions or want to volunteer? Email Kyra at gbvcoordinator@ncpei.com \n  \nWhat is a water walk? (Excerpt from NCPEI) \n“A water walk an indigenous ceremony where we focus our intentions and energy towards the water spirit and all that she carries within her. To pray for her health and happiness so that the water can continue to provide for us. To honor and acknowledge the water and give thanks for all the years she has been with us and continues to be here.\n \nIt is our duty as people to protect her and take care of her\, and with this ceremony\, we want to bring forth awareness about pollution and how we as people can work together collectively to ensure we all do our part to help keep our waters clean and protected. Water is a powerful medicine and is an extremely important resource for all of our survival.”\n
