The PEI Action Team for Migrant Worker Rights – Discussion Sessions on Temporary Status

The PEI Action Team for Migrant Worker Rights, Cooper Institute, and BIPOC USHR are hosting two discussion sessions to gather people who have direct experience with temporary status (i.e. A study permit, a work permit, a visitor visa, etc.) to discuss some of the challenges in navigating Canada’s immigration system and rethink ways that we can improve it for those who are immigrating. The first session will be held on
Saturday, May 31st at the Loyalist Inn (195 Heather Moyse Drive) in Summerside from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM,
and the second will be held the following week on

Saturday, June 7th at the Rotary Auditorium of the Charlottetown Library (97 Queen Street) form 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
We are asking your organization/group to help us spread the word about these upcoming sessions (or include it in your newsletter). Participants are asked to register in advance at the link below. We have also shared our Instagram and Facebook posts if you are interested in sharing the word on your social media accounts. We also know attendance is often best when people are reached out to individually, so if you have anyone in particular in mind, please let them know! The event is free of charge and there will be snacks and refreshments.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email at ryan@cooperinstitute.ca or by calling 902-894-4573.
