Atlantic Canada Social Enterprise Census

We are reaching out to invite you to participate in the Atlantic Canadian Social Enterprise Census, a short (15 minutes or less) survey that asks about the work your organization does, and the challenges and barriers you’re facing, especially related to funding/financing.
You are also invited to participate in a short interview to dive into further detail not captured by the survey alone. These conversations help to understand your current challenges and opportunities, to advocate on your behalf, and design tools that actually meet your needs. If your work contributes to community or environmental impact in any way, we want to hear from you. The definition of Social Enterprise according to Buy Social Canada is: “ businesses that sells goods or services, embed a social, cultural or environmental purpose into the business, and reinvest the majority of profits or surplus into their purpose.” More broadly, Social Purpose Organizations (SPOs) include charities, nonprofits, social enterprises, co-operatives, and mission-driven businesses, and we are looking to capture insights from all of these forms of impact focused organizations.
Atlantic Canada’s social impact sector is growing, and completing the census is a powerful way to strengthen our collective understanding of its scale, diversity, and contribution here at home.
Another meaningful way to be part of this momentum is by certifying your social enterprise with Buy Social Canada. Buy Social Canada certification is a nationally recognized signal of credibility and impact, helping connect Atlantic Canadian social enterprises to buyers, partners, and procurement opportunities across the country.
Participation also creates a free profile on Good Market, a global directory for values-driven organizations, and initiates the first step toward People Planet First – an international verification framework developed by the Social Enterprise World Forum.
