Our Work

Achieving Success through Community Engagement & Development (ASCEND)

The ASCEND program is transforming youth employment across Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Nunavut.

Funded by the Government of Canada and led by Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador (CSCNL), ASCEND is delivered in partnership with Community Sector Network PEI (CSNPEI) and Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia (IONS). This initiative provides meaningful employment opportunities for youth aged 15-30 who are Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEET), while strengthening the community sector.

Through provincial minimum wage subsidized 19-21 week work placements in community sector organizations, ASCEND gives youth the hands-on experience, mentorship, and career development they need to succeed. Before placements begin, participants complete two weeks of career and personal development training, equipping them with the skills and confidence to thrive in the workforce.

Shared Services Program

The Shared Services Program (SSP) by CSNPEI is a strategic initiative designed to strengthen the nonprofit sector in PEI by helping organizations access essential administrative services at a lower cost and with greater efficiency.

This program, funded by Innovation PEI, was developed through extensive stakeholder consultations, research, and analysis to support nonprofits by pooling resources and connecting them with vetted service providers.

Rather than hiring individual consultants or staff, organizations with similar needs are grouped together and matched with a shared service provider, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality support. This collaborative approach fosters sustainability, enhances operational capacity, and allows nonprofits to focus on their mission.

Social Entreprise

CSNPEI's social enterprise project is designed to help non-profit leaders and aspiring social entrepreneurs launch and grow impactful ventures in Prince Edward Island. Through a dynamic webinar series led by industry experts, participants gain essential insights into business planning, impact measurement, financial sustainability, and more. Additionally, our Social Entrepreneur Incubator provides hands-on mentorship and resources to support innovative ideas that balance social good with financial viability. Whether you're just starting or looking to scale, this program offers the tools and guidance needed to create lasting change.

Community Champions

This campaign is a collaboration between CSNPEI and the Volunteer Resource Council (VRC). It is funded by the Government of PEI’s Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) and Community Enhancement Program. The campaign celebrates the amazing work being done by nonprofits across our Island. It aims to raise awareness of these organizations' essential role in our communities, inspire others to get involved and honor those making a positive impact. By sharing success stories and creating opportunities for engagement, we hope to strengthen and connect our communities even more.
