Cooper Institute will host the launch of the fourth edition of Anne Bishop’s groundbreaking book, Becoming an Ally, on Saturday , February 21st, 10 am-12 noon at the Charlottetown Library & Learning Centre. (Storm date: February 22 at 1 pm, same place)
Anne Bishop has been a social justice activist for five decades.The first edition of Becoming an Ally, published in 1994, sold more than 50,000 copies worldwide. In this new edition, the author, building on three earlier editions, has written a new guide to structural oppression, where it came from and how it spread. What will it take to transform our world society into one that provides the resources and support required for everyone to thrive? And within that, what is the role of allies?
