The Joyriders – Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteering with the Joyriders is a great way to enjoy special people and horses, and have fun together at our venue in Hunter River! Our mission is the enhancement of the physical, emotional and social well-being of children and adults with disabilities through various forms of therapeutic riding. Our programs holistically offer physical, cognitive, psychological, recreational and social benefits. See our video at www.thejoyriders.ca.
If you are 16 years or older, reasonably fit, and comfortable around horses, why not join our 2026 fall riding program for eight weeks, starting mid-September. Horse experience is helpful but not essential, just a sense of adventure to try something new and rewarding for both our clients and yourself. All volunteers must attend an orientation, September 13. Volunteer hours count towards the PEI Community Service Bursary (grades 10–12). For full details, contact Volunteer Coordinator Joan Leslie at joanleslietater@gmail.com.
